AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

The HIM Coordinator maintains the accuracy of the medical record. Performs chart audits and reviews OASIS documentation; assigns ICD-9-CM and ICD-10 codes to Home Health and Hospice admissions within an appropriate timeline.  Maintains the electronic medical record (Allscripts). As a HIM team member, this position is also responsible for coordinating and maintaining patient record information and performing clerical functions related to the HIM department.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

  • One to Two years medical office administrative support experience 
  • ICD-10 Certification required
  • CCS or other coding certifications
  • Computer proficiency; Microsoft Word, Excel and database management applications  
  • Well organized, flexible, able to adapt rapidly to changing priorities and tasks; willing to learn new tasks
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and the avability to work professionally with people
  • Allscripts or Epic database a plus
